The 2014 Premier's Sustainability Awards is now calling for entries in the new category Cleaner Yarra and Bay.

The category is open to individuals, community groups, businesses, organisations or governments who are protecting and enhancing the health of the Yarra River and Port Phillip Bay.

Boosting, and recognising, community support for the Yarra and the Bay is an essential part of the Victorian Governments’ A Cleaner Yarra River and Port Phillip Bay - A Plan for Action, which was launched by the Victorian Government last year.

This new award has been created to recognise and celebrate the sustainability efforts undertaken every day by Victorians to protect and enhance the health of our iconic Yarra River and Port Phillip Bay environments.

Now in their 12th year, the Premier's Sustainability Awards are Victoria’s highest honours for sustainability.

Entries close Monday 2 June.

The finalists will be announced in September and the awards will be presented on Thursday 2 October.
