On Tuesday 9 June Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) was alerted to a sunken boat in Queenscliff Harbour. Environment Protection Officers (EPO's) attended the scene and were informed that the vessel, a boat named 'Awesome', had no new oil on board and empty diesel tanks. A small and very light oil sheen was evident which Queenscliff Harbour staff contained with booms as the vessel was removed from the water.
