The draft Port Phillip Bay Environmental Management Plan 2017-2027 has been released for public consultation. Victorians are encouraged to have their say on the new draft Port Phillip Bay Environmental Management Plan, a framework to guide the sustainable management of our iconic Bay over the next decade.

The first Bay management plan was released in 2001 and drove significant action and investment. The new plan aims to tackle key challenges to the Bay’s health including excessive nutrients, sediments and pollution from the catchment, litter, habitat decline, and marine pests. Developed by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning in partnership with Melbourne Water and the Environment Protection Authority Victoria, the draft Plan is part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to ensure Port Phillip Bay remains healthy and resilient over the coming decade.

Consultation on the draft Port Phillip Bay Environmental Management Plan is open until 10 February 2017.
