Alert removal for Toolern Creek
On 21st July, EPA was advised of a vehicle leaking fuel into Toolern Creek in Melton South. Several agencies (including Victoria Police and Melbourne Water) responded and attended the site to ensure the spill was contained through the deployment of booms and cleaned up in order to minimise potential impacts on the environment.
EPA was contacted on the following day and was advised that clean-up had been completed and pollution was no longer occurring.
The Victorian community has a vital role in protecting the environment. Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) relies on the community to report incidents of pollution, environmental hazard or other activities potentially harmful to the environment.
If you see, hear or smell pollution please report it to the EPA Pollution Hotline 1300 372 842 (1300 EPA VIC) or online.
More information about reporting pollution can be found on EPA’s website.
